We were delighted to have another fabulous days racing at the Amiri Construction Mermaid Challenge, hosted by Seaview Yacht Club yesterday. The combination of Amiri hosts and guests contrived to generate the closest racing in Challenge history with any lapses of concentration being punished and moments of inspiration being rewarded! After our usual excellent Seaview greeting it was straight out to the boats where the weather stayed kind enough to allow for 5 excellent races. The wind picked up to 18 knots during the afternoon so the boats were properly powered, even under jibs, heeling well and giving their occupants the usual Seaview shower over the side – all of which added to the excitement. A fantastic Seaview late lunch and prizegiving saw performances rewarded, tales exchanged, insurance forms completed and a damp trip back to Gunwharf as our weather luck finally ran out.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and a very well done to those who conquered the gusty winds and were lucky enough to go away with a trophy! If anyone has any of their own photos of the day please send them over to us.
Once again, from all of your Amiri hosts, thank you.
