Environmental - Policy Statement
Amiri Construction are a proactive and responsible contractor and will ensure that we minimise any harmful effects on the environment and act positively to create sustainable projects by creating a balance between our business aims and environmental considerations.
We will work toward meeting and then exceeding all the applicable legislations and regulations. It is therefore the policy of the company to:
- Aim to lessen environmental damage and increase, where possible, the opportunities for environmental enhancement.
- Consider the environmental impact as a vital part of the decision making process.
- Comply with legal requirements and establish goals to achieve an ongoing reduction in environmental conflict in all parts of its operation.
- Encourage personal effort on the part of all employees and sub-contractors to avoid and prevent environmental damage and to act as good neighbours to those affected by building and construction activities.
- Provide and exhibit this policy and such written instructions as are necessary to aid the implementation of this Policy.
- Review this policy at 12 monthly intervals.
For the execution of this policy the following organisation and arrangements apply:-
The senior Manager/Supervisor on site, or at a place of work will be responsible for the implementation of the Environmental Policy, and will ensure that:
- All work is carried out in accordance with all relevant Acts, Regulations, and Group Policy and procedures, as defined in the staff health and safety manual, COSHH manual, safety plans, and other Group /Safety Department instructions.
- Waste is removed in accordance with legislation by registered carriers to licensed tips.
- Manage our business processes to prevent ground, river, and coastal water pollution.
- Minimise the effects of dust, noise and inconvenience.
- Use all resources efficiently disturbance to reduce total energy use, minimise waste and recycle.
- Constantly monitor ourselves to generate improvements.
- Work with subcontractors and suppliers to improve their environmental performance.
- Liaise with our neighbours and the local community on environmental issues.
- Welcome initiatives and suggestions that will improve environmental performance.
- Comply with the Montreal Protocol by ensuring that ozone depleting gases such as CFC's and Halons are not discharged into atmosphere.
