Arundel St, Portsmouth

Arundel Street is part of the pedestrianised shopping centre of Portsmouth and has remained little changed for some time. Amiri Construction have now carried out a number of schemes there for the same client.

Our first project for this client had a change of use requirement from leisure to retail following the loss of a tenant that operated a ten-pin bowling alley. Amiri Construction were asked to remove all the bowling alley operations, carry out an asbestos survey and have it removed by specialist supply chain partners and then refurbish and extend the remaining space, creating new retail units.

Minimising of disruption to the adjacent retail units by careful management of deliveries, limiting noisy operation times and careful liaison regarding their workings ensured that neighbours remained happy and successful delivery was achieved. On the strength of our performance we have carried out a number of other projects in Arundel Street.
